MidOpt - LP390 Ultraviolet (UV)-Absorbing Protective Window

The MidOpt LP390 Ultraviolet (UV)-Absorbing Protective Window is used to block UV light while allowing high (>90%) visible (VIS) and near-infrared (IR) light transmission. Most silicon camera sensors have some sensitivity in the UV spectrum. In some color cameras this light can typically be recorded like blue light, resulting in an exaggerated bluish tint. The LP390 works well for color imaging applications, as they absorb UV light, and are also frequently used as protective windows, shielding expensive camera lenses from contamination and scratching over time or, in more challenging environments, even breakage. The LP390 has StablEDGE technology to reduce angular dependency and minimize the effects of short-shifting.
