MidOpt - LP610 Red Longpass Filter
SKU: LP610-25.5
The MidOpt LP610 Red Longpass Filter is used with a monochrome camera to increase contrast and resolution by passing red and near-infrared (IR) light. The LP610 is commonly used in single camera Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) imaging applications as an alternative to Wratten 25 or 25A filters. However, the MidOpt DB660/850 is a superior alternative. Longpass filters are often referred to as "sharp-cut" filters and are specifically designed to pass a broad spectrum of longer wavelength light while blocking shorter wavelengths. They're commonly used in fluorescence applications to block an excitation light source or to pass multiple emission wavelengths, improving signal-to-noise ratio. If a red LED is being used, the MidOpt BP635 or BP660 is a better option. MidOpt Longpass Filters have a broad, Gaussian passband to mimic and accommodate the entire output of the most common LED wavelengths, are double-side polished for exceptional parallelism and optical flatness and are anti-reflection (AR) coated to limit glare and minimize reflection loss.
