Orange Longpass Filter, 560-1100nm - MidOpt LP550

The MidOpt LP550 Orange Longpass Filter is used with a monochrome camera to increase contrast and resolution by blocking ultraviolet (UV) and shorter visible (VIS) wavelengths while passing orange, red and near-infrared (IR) light. Longpass filters are often referred to as "sharp-cut" filters and are specifically designed to pass a broad spectrum of longer wavelength light while blocking shorter wavelengths. They're commonly used in fluorescence applications to block an excitation light source or to pass multiple emission wavelengths, improving signal-to-noise ratio. To block longer wavelengths, including IR, which the camera may be sensitive to, the MidOpt BP595 is recommended. MidOpt Longpass Filters have a broad, Gaussian passband to mimic and accommodate the entire output of the most common LED wavelengths, are double-side polished for exceptional parallelism and optical flatness and are anti-reflection (AR) coated to limit glare and minimize reflection loss.
