MidOpt - LP500 Yellow Longpass Filter
SKU: LP500-25.5
The MidOpt LP500 Yellow Longpass Filter is used with a monochrome camera and increases contrast and resolution by blocking ultraviolet (UV) and virtually all blue light while passing longer visible (VIS) and near-infrared (IR) wavelengths. The LP500 may also be used to block stray light emitted by UV and blue LED light sources. Longpass filters are often referred to as "sharp-cut" filters and are specifically designed to pass a broad spectrum of longer wavelength light while blocking shorter wavelengths. They're commonly used in fluorescence applications to block an excitation light source or to pass multiple emission wavelengths, improving signal-to-noise ratio. To block longer wavelengths, including the near-IR, the MidOpt BP525 is recommended. Transmitting longer wavelengths can result in washed out, low contrast images. MidOpt Longpass Filters have a broad, Gaussian passband to mimic and accommodate the entire output of the most common LED wavelengths, are double-side polished for exceptional parallelism and optical flatness and are anti-reflection (AR) coated to limit glare and minimize reflection loss.
