The MidOpt TB475/550/850 Triple Bandpass Blue + Green + 850nm Near-Infrared (IR) Filter is mounted onto converted consumer cameras used in aerial surveying applications to provide a more affordable, lightweight alternative compared to systems employing three or more cameras or sensors. Blue-Green-Near-IR (NIR) Extended Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (ENDVI) data gathered for vegetative health monitoring can be used to provide similar, but spectrally different information as compared to traditional NDVI data. Soil background, differing atmospheric conditions and various types of vegetation can all influence the reflection of visible (VIS) light differently. ENDVI analysis can provide more accurate information regarding plant or crop health by utilizing additional information from the blue portion of the spectrum. The formula used is: ENDVI = [(NIR + Green) – (2 * Blue)] / [(NIR + Green) + (2 * Blue)]. MidOpt Multi-Bandpass Filters have a broad, Gaussian passband to mimic and accommodate the entire output of the most common LED wavelengths, are double-side polished for exceptional parallelism and optical flatness and are anti-reflection (AR) coated to limit glare and minimize reflection loss.
